A4L Kickoff

February 27, 2025

The legal profession is on the cusp of a technological revolution, with artificial intelligence poised to transform how lawyers work and deliver services. To ensure this transformation is both beneficial and ethical, the Association of AI in Legal (A4L) is launching, and you're invited to be a part of it.

Join us for the A4L kickoff event on March 24, 2025, from 2-4pm at White Olive in New York, NY, during LegalWeek. This inaugural meeting will bring together legal professionals eager to shape the future of AI in law and become founding members of this vital new organization.

A4L is dedicated to advancing the responsible and ethical use of AI within the legal industry. We aim to be the authoritative voice guiding law firms through the complex landscape of artificial intelligence. Our mission focuses on identifying, advising on, and addressing the emerging workforce, legal, and ethical challenges presented by AI, with a particular emphasis on supporting small and mid-size law firms.

The NYC kickoff event will be a working session focused on building the foundation of A4L. Attendees will play a crucial role in defining the organization's initial direction by:

  • Identifying Firm Needs: We'll delve into the specific challenges and opportunities firms face regarding AI adoption, ensuring A4L's resources and initiatives are directly relevant to the legal community.
  • Discussing Vendor Vetting: A critical component of responsible AI implementation is selecting reliable and ethical vendors. We will discuss the development of a robust vetting process for potential vendor members, ensuring A4L partners adhere to the highest standards.
  • Forming Subgroups/Committees: Participants will collaborate to establish working groups focused on key areas such as ethical AI development, legal tech best practices, and AI workforce training.
  • Defining Focus Areas: Each working group will define its specific objectives and develop strategies for achieving them, ensuring A4L's efforts are targeted and impactful.
  • Developing Resources: The event will kickstart the creation of valuable resources and insights for A4L members, including white papers, best practice guides, and educational materials.

A4L believes that collaboration is key to navigating the AI revolution. We aim to highlight emerging tech leaders, showcase responsible AI implementation, and provide platforms for knowledge sharing through awards, speaking opportunities, and cutting-edge research. By joining A4L, you will be part of a community dedicated to shaping the future of law through responsible and ethical AI adoption.

Space for the kickoff event is limited. RSVP via Eventbrite to secure your place and become a founding member of A4L. We look forward to collaborating with you in New York!
